EXPLANATORY NOTES

Right light in the right place

Our LED canopy luminaires feature specially designed optics that ensure wide and even light distribution.

This makes dispensers and canopies (canopy columns?) highly visible, even from a distance, and improves visibility and safety at the station. The even light distribution eliminates poorly lit areas, contributing to a pleasant and safe visitor experience.

Unlike conventional luminaires, which often cause stray light, our LED luminaires direct light exactly where it is needed. This minimises light pollution and waste. Thanks to special lenses, the luminaires create a bright beacon of light in the dark.

Users can also choose from different numbers of LEDs and different colours (Kelvin).

Light shines exactly where it is needed!

Light normalizer

Maximum light output guaranteed with the integrated Light Normaliser function in LED downlights:

Our LED downlights are equipped with an advanced ‘Light Normaliser’ function, which ensures that the light output always remains optimal. The Light Normaliser continuously measures the luminaire's performance and automatically detects any drop in light that may occur over time due to wear or pollution, for example. As soon as a setback is detected, the system automatically adjusts the settings to compensate the light level to maintain maximum brightness. This ensures consistent light quality throughout the product's lifetime, without the need for manual adjustments.

IP
Dust- and waterproof

IP (Ingress Protection) indicates how well a device is protected against dust and water.

The IP number consists of two digits: the first indicates protection against dust and ranges from 0 (no protection) to 6 (fully dustproof). The second digit indicates protection against water, ranging from 0 (no protection) to 9 (protection against powerful water jets and immersion). The higher the number, the better the product is protected against dust and moisture, which is essential for applications in challenging environments.

Membrane
A membrane as a seal in an exterior luminaire provides effective protection against water and dust while remaining breathable. This membrane ensures that moisture and dirt remain outside the luminaire but allows condensation and heat to escape from inside. This prevents internal pressure build-up and extends the life of the luminaire. The membrane is therefore ideal for outdoor lighting that needs to withstand challenging weather conditions, while keeping internal components well protected.
Overheat protection

All LED luminaires have optimal LED protection due to the integrated Luminaire Intelligent Protection System (LIPS):

  • When the temperature of the LEDs on the PCB exceeds 80˚C, the LIPS (Luminaire Intelligent Protection System) automatically switches on
  • This ensures that the lamp automatically dims back down.
  • Each segment of the board is constantly monitored for voltage spikes, short circuits, and temperature overshoot.
  • As a result, the luminaire is optimally protected, without compromising its service life.

Impact-resistant

Impact resistance, indicated by an IK rating, indicates how well a luminaire can withstand mechanical impacts.

A luminaire with IK10, for example, can withstand an impact of 20 joules, comparable to the impact of a 5 kg object falling from 40 cm. This rating makes the luminaire highly suitable for demanding environments, such as fuel stations and industrial sites, where extra protection from damage is needed.

Maximum readability

The LED screen is designed to ensure maximum readability in all lighting conditions.

Thanks to automatic brightness control, the screen effortlessly adapts to the environment. In bright sunlight, the brightness increases, keeping content sharp and clearly visible. In normal daylight and twilight conditions, the screen strikes an optimal balance between brightness and energy efficiency. At night, the screen dims automatically so that it does not glare but is still easy to read.

This technology ensures that important information and promotions are clearly visible to customers at any time of day, regardless of weather conditions.

Passive -  and Active Overheat Protection

Passive Overheat Protection:
The electronics and LEDs in the price displays are protected from direct sunlight by a colour-coated aluminium plate:

  • This saves over 10% in heat development on the electronics
  • Colour can be adapted to house style
  • Optimal contrast is guaranteed

All LED price displays feature an intelligent AOP - Active Overheating Protection - system:

  • Should passive cooling not be sufficient under extreme conditions, the LEDs automatically dim down, providing maximum protection of the electronics against overheating.
  • The moment the temperature of the LEDs in a closed housing rises too high, the fans automatically switch on.
  • This combination ensures a guaranteed, long service life.

This is how it works:

INTELLIGENT DIMMING

When the LED display is in danger of overheating, the LEDs receive slightly less energy, causing them to dim back.

When the temperature returns to an acceptable level, the energy switches back to normal.
